GrabberMedia:Sonic2 MD US SonicJam manual.pdf[1] (グラバー Gurabā)Media:Sonic2_MD_JP_manual.pdf[2] is a spider-like Badnik from the 16-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 found in Chemical Plant Zone. When Sonic stands directly underneath them, they'll drop down, pick him up and blow up, causing damage to him. It is best to attack them from the side rather from down below, because Sonic and the heroes may risk being captured by them. If it auto destructs, the animal inside is killed. It is possible to escape from a Grabber's clutches by pressing Left and Right alternately on the D-pad.

Other appearances

Sonic Generations

Grabbers return in Sonic Generations, again appearing in Chemical Plant. In this appearance, they can now walk along and hold onto strings.

Sonic Lost World

Grabbers also reappear in both versions of Sonic Lost World, retaining their attack pattern from previous games. In the 3DS version, Grabbers are found specifically in Windy Hill Zone 2 and Desert Ruins, appearing along linear route sections where up to three of them will hang on the roof. In the Wii U/PC version, they appear in Desert Ruins Zone 1 and Silent Forest Zone 4, and can only be destroyed with a Bounce Attack as they cannot be locked-on. A similar enemy, known as a Laser Grabber, also appears.

Sonic Mania

Grabbers also appear in Sonic Mania's Chemical Plant Zone, and act identically to their original appearance.

Sonic Frontiers

In Sonic Frontiers, digital recreations of Grabbers appear in stages thematically set in Chemical Plant, behaving much like their Generations counterparts.
