Canister[1][2] is an enemy Badnik encountered in Sonic Mania.
Overview
The Canister is based on a snail, with an orange head and two eyes connected via orange cables. Its shell is made from a cyan film reel, with a yellow focus lens fitted on the top of the shell, and a smaller yellow reel attached to the rear, resembling the tail-end of its foot.
Similar in concept and function to the Snail Blaster from Launch Base Zone, Canisters are found crawling on the walls of Studiopolis Zone. When approached by the player, a Canister will attack by shooting film stock pieces from its focus lens, which will slowly float down and cause damage. Unlike Snail Blasters, Canisters have no form of defense, and is easily destroyed with any attack.
