Dango (ダンゴ) is a badnik in Sonic the Hedgehog CD's Stardust Speedway and Metallic Madness. It isn't listed in any instruction manual, however it is referred to as "dango" in the game's source code. This is short for "dangomushi" (ダンゴムシ), the Japanese word for pill bug. When approached, it rolls into a ball and charges at the player; this will damage the player unless they perform a Spin Attack, in which case it will simply bounce off harmlessly. If the player is quick enough, it can be defeated using a Spin Attack when not in ball form.
Unlike most badniks in the game, Dango's colour scheme changes depending on where it is encountered, appearing in pink in Stardust Speedway's Past, green in Stardust Speedway's present, and orange in Metallic Madness.
Dango returns in Sonic Mania's Stardust Speedway Zone, acting identically to its original appearance. It once again sports a different colour scheme depending on the time zone, appearing in pink in Act 1 (set in the Zone's past) and in green in Act 2 (set in the Zone's present).
