The Balloon is an enemy that appears in Sonic Frontiers.
Overview
The Balloon is a robot, presumably created by the Ancients, that consists of a solid robot that contains a liquid bubble (hence its name) of an unknown substance. It can expand this bubble to a great size, also (somehow) growing its robotic parts. It appears in Rhea Island and Ouranos Island.
If a Balloon catches Sonic in its bubble, it will ascend into the air and keep him trapped inside. Sonic will lose air and eventually drown if he doesn't escape, and is the only part of the game to use the classic drowning music. In order to escape, Sonic must repeatedly jump and Stomp, which will eventually cause the Balloon to burst (or pop, as it were).
