Metal Knuckles is a robot version of Knuckles the Echidna created by Dr. Eggman, and appears as an unlockable character in Sonic R.

Metal Knuckles was designed by Yuji Uekawa.
In video games
Sonic Channel featured Japanese language profiles of the Sonic R characters; translated, Metal Knuckles' is as follows:

Metal Knuckles is often cited as the second-best racer in Sonic R, consistently beaten only by Super Sonic. The robot has not re-appeared in any official Sonic games since its debut, but was added to Minecraft as an official player skin, as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration on June 22nd, 2021[1].
