MadmoleMedia:S&K MD US SonicJam manual.pdf[1], called Mogu-mogu (モグモグ) in the Japanese manualMedia:S&K MD JP SonicJam manual.pdf[2], is a mole-like Badnik from Sonic & Knuckles found in Mushroom Hill Zone. When approached, this Badnik pops out from its hole and throws mushrooms at the player. The mushrooms themselves don't inflict damage, but can potentially knock the player backwards if touched. If the player successfully avoids the mushrooms, the Badnik can be defeated using a Spin Attack. At the end of the Zone, a different-coloured Madmole appears piloting the Flying Battery airship.

Madmole appears again in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations, where it can be found again in Mushroom Hill, even in the same locations as in Sonic & Knuckles. They are simply defeated with either a Spin Attack or a Homing Attack.

Madmole also makes an appearance in the Wii U/PC version Sonic Lost World, where they hide in groups in Silent Forest Zone 1. Like in their other appearances, they will pelt Sonic with bouncy mushrooms when he approaches them. They must be defeated with a Homing Attack; the Flying Kick is useless against them as they will simply avoid it.

Madmole also appears in Sonic Mania, this time in Flying Battery Zone, with an appearance similar to the one seen piloting the Flying Battery in Sonic & Knuckles. This version is not treated as a regular Badnik, instead forming part of an environmental hazard within the stage. The Madmole sits within a pod controlling the flow of electricity between orbs similar to those found in Sonic the Hedgehog CD's Wacky Workbench. Attacking Madmole's pod with a Spin Attack will cause it to fall and render all the orbs it was linked to inactive, although the player can also choose to destroy the individual orbs in order to disrupt the flow.

A Badnik similar to the Sonic & Knuckles version of Madmole, known as Mogu, appears in several Zones in Sonic Advance. Another similar Badnik, Minimole, appears in Sonic Advance 3.

"Mogura" is Japanese for mole.
