IceBomba is an enemy Badnik encountered in Sonic Mania.

Overview

Appearing in Press Garden Zone Act 2, the IceBomba is based on the Bombbearer from Chaotix in design and function - it resembles a magenta four-legged housefly with spherical joints and green claws which bobs across the width of the screen in wavy patterns, though its bomb is blue with a snowflake symbol. Unlike the Bombbearer, IceBomba will drop its cargo and fly away when approached by the player.

If its bomb hits the player directly, it will freeze them solid as if they had passed through an ice-blowing machine. If it misses, it creates a large impassible pillar of ice to block the player for a few seconds. Any aerial attack such as a Spin Jump will destroy it easily, however the player must be careful about the angle they attack from so as to not be frozen by its bomb and interrupt the attack.
