The Sweep (スイープ), also known as Sweeper[1], is a Badnik that appears in Sonic Adventure. It is a pond skater-like Badnik which is able to walk on water and attacks by ramming its needle noses at its enemies. It appears in Emerald Coast and Twinkle Park for Sonic.
Sweep appears again in the 3DS version of Sonic Generations where it is again found in Emerald Coast, skimming about on the surface of water in Act 1.
Sweep also appeared as an unused Badnik in Sonic Mania, and can be found in the debug mode object list for Chemical Plant Zone. This version of the Badnik is significantly smaller than its original appearance, and functions similar to the Amenbo Badnik found in Sonic the Hedgehog CD's Tidal Tempest. When placed, its vertical position snaps to the water's surface, and it skates back and forth occasionally firing a spiked projectile from its nose. It later saw use in Encore Mode, where it can be found in Angel Island Zone.
