Overview

Produced during an accident at the Solaris Project, Iblis is sealed inside (then released from) Princess Elise during the main timeline, and starts to ravage the world for hundreds of years into the time period of Silver the Hedgehog. In Silver's story, Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat continuously battle Iblis, but it always ends up proving too powerful for either of them to defeat for good as it can continually resurrect itself. In order to defeat Iblis in that timeline, Blaze is forced to seal it within her, transforming her into Burning Blaze.[1] In the main timeline, Mephiles kills Sonic and causes Elise to cry, breaking Iblis' seal. Once this happens, Mephiles then merges with Iblis to reform Solaris. After Solaris is defeated, Iblis is erased from the main timeline, however the future version still exists within Blaze.[2]

As a demigod, Iblis has a variety of different forms fought as boss battles during the game, ranging from a demon-like monster, to a lava worm, to a humanoid colossus:

Knuckles (Paramount TV series)

During the episode The Flames of Disaster, a creature heavily resembling Iblis appears during Pachacamac's low-budget rock opera recreation of Knuckles' backstory. In the story, after the destruction of the Echidna village and the death of Knuckles' father, Knuckles sets out on a quest to acquire the power of the mythical Flames of Disaster. After a long journey, he encounters the current wielder of the power, an enormous fire demon made of lava (represented in the rock opera by a large puppet). Knuckles battles the demon for control of the Flames of Disaster, but is effortlessly defeated. The demon mocks him for his lack of skill and training, calling him unworthy of the power he seeks, but is defeated once Knuckles realizes that true strength comes from within a warrior's heart.

While the demon is never addressed by name as Iblis, merely being referred to as "the demon made of fire and ash" in the song, and "Fire Demon" in the episode credits, the design of the puppet used during the rock opera is nearly identical to Iblis' first phase design, and its connection to a power called the Flames of Disaster all but confirms it as another incarnation of Iblis.
