Scrap Brain Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog is an example of the industrial theme.
The industrial theme represents gameplay that takes place in factories or other industrial areas. This theme first appeared in Scrap Brain Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog.
Often in a factory setting, the player will see metal structures, buildings, conveyor belts, electric sparks, and many hazards. Because of their difficulty, a number of levels with this theme occur at the end of the game, like Launch Base Zone in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Panic Puppet Zone in Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island.
While this theme often encompasses levels with cities (and thus an urban theme), they differ in that they are usually more difficult and better indicate the presence of Dr. Eggman.
