Aero-Chaser is a badnik featured in Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations and Sonic Forces.
Aero-Chaser is one of two daytime enemies (the other being the Interceptor) in Sonic Unleashed that can take multiple hits. Encountered in groups, when Sonic spots Aero-Chasers, he will start to autorun. The Aero-Chasers can't be hit directly in the XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 versions; enemies in the path must be slammed into each one twice to destroy it. In the Wii and PlayStation 2 versions of the game, you must Boost into the Aero-Chaser to inflict damage. In some areas, destroyed Aero-Chasers are replaced upon exploding. The Aero-Chaser flies in front of Sonic, attacking with one of many weapons. These include:
- Laser cannons
- Bombs that erupt into pillars of flame
- Electric trip wires
Aero-Chasers can't see behind themselves; as such, they frequently crash into objects.
The enemy returns in Sonic Colours, but they now strictly fire lasers onto the track, and cannot be destroyed. Instead they eventually run into something by accident, destroying themselves.
The enemy appears again in Sonic Generations on Rooftop Run with a similar appearance to that of Sonic Unleashed.
In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Aero-Chasers appear as obstacles in Galactic Parade, pursuing racers across the light bridges and attempting to make them spin out by firing their laser cannons onto the track.
Aero-Chasers return in Sonic Forces, again in autorun sections, with a change in design consisting of an oval body similar to Egg Pawns and with a blue color scheme. They can be found for the first time in Prison Hall, and later in Egg Gate and Final Judgement.
