The Egg Burst is a Badnik featured in Sonic Unleashed.

Overview
Found only in daytime stages, they are similar to the Egg Shackles in terms of appearance, but are colored red and black. If Sonic makes contact with them, they will latch onto him and self-destruct after a short while, causing damage in the process. To shake them off, the player must repeatedly Stomp or use the Foot Sweep.
In the PS2/Wii versions, these Badniks function as bombs that will rain down on the path from above and explode upon reaching the ground. Their blast radius isn't very large, though.
