The Red Deep Nightmare (ナイトメア) is an enemy in the night stages of Sonic Unleashed and one of Dark Gaia's minions. This variant of the Deep Nightmare appears only in the PS2/Wii version of the game.

Overview

They are similar to a Deep Nightmare in terms of appearance, but they are colored red with cyan markings. Being the strongest variant of the Nightmare kind, the Red Deep Nightmares possess strength, speed and durability above even the Deep Nightmares, being also more aggressive in combat. Red Deep Nightmares lack any sort of projectile attack, and instead attack the Werehog by means of their stretchy arms. They are also capable of using their arms to shield themselves from the Werehog's attacks if he attacks them too wildly.
