Orbs (Sonic Unleashed)

The Orbs are Dark Gaia fragments of energy that can be found in the Night Stages of the PS2/Wii versions of Sonic Unleashed, and are a result of Dark Gaia being scattered all around the world at the beginning of the game. They appear in three variants - Red Orbs, Blue Orbs and Green Orbs. All Orbs can be gained by beating enemies, although each enemy emits a specific combination of Orbs. The amount of Orbs emitted be an enemy can be multiplied by a certain factor if you beat it with a combo, however. Red and Blue Orbs can also be obtained by collecting the respective Item Boxes or breaking objects (such as jars and ice, but not wooden boxes).
