It should be noted that throughout the battle all the people who talk to Sonic and Shadow mention there are only 4 minutes until impact with Earth. The background becomes more red as the battle progresses, but in actuality the player has unlimited time as long as he has [[ring]]s.

Fought by: Super Sonic and Super Shadow

Finalhazard is the last boss of Sonic Adventure 2, formed when Biolizard fuses itself to the outside of the Space Colony ARK. Super Sonic and Super Shadow fly into space to defeat it as the ARK plummets towards the planet.

After the battle, Shadow appears to die as he reverts back to his normal self and catches fire in the atmosphere. In Shadow the Hedgehog, however, it is revealed that he was found and restored to health by Eggman.

Boss

Finalhazard is a pretty simple boss. Due to its damaged life support system, it attaches itself to the Eclipse Cannon for power. Though severely weakened it is still a powerful monster. Its weaknesses are the boil looking things that will appear on its body. The swellings must be hit to damage it.

Attack Patterns

  • 1st hit: During the first part, it basically does nothing until the player gets close. Once he does, it surrounds itself with 9 eggs (3 in a row). It's pretty simple to maneuver around these and hit it.
  • 2nd and 3rd hit: It starts shooting 2 laser beams from out of nowhere on its body. The player must maneuver past these; if he gets hit by one, he will not be able to move for about 5 seconds.
  • 4th hit: It will surround itself with its eggs and shoot lasers. The eggs slow the player down.
  • 5th hit: Same as the the 4th, but this time it is faster and a little more erratic with its egg shooting.

It should be noted that throughout the battle all the people who talk to Sonic and Shadow mention there are only 4 minutes until impact with Earth. The background becomes more red as the battle progresses, and after roughly five minutes, the player is auto-killed regardless of Ring count.
