Super Rings are special Ring-type items found in most Sonic games. Their value ranges from 5 to 100 rings, which are added to the player's ring count once they are collected, causing the same effects as regular rings, such as increasing Modern Sonic's Boost Gauge, rewarding Classic Sonic with a 1-up once he gets 50 rings, or restoring the Werehog's Health Bar by a certain amount.

Overview

They appear throughout the levels in many different ways and forms, depending on the game title, from being placed inside Monitors or Item Boxes, to being featured as big bings with a number in the middle, or even awarded by collecting Item Panels in Sonic R or beating UFOs in Sonic CD. Their names also also widely vary from game to game. The most common of the Super Rings, the 10 Rings, is also the oldest kind, featured for the first time in Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit), the very first Sonic game. The rarest is the 30 Rings, exclusively featured in the PS2/Wii versions of Sonic Unleashed.
