Catakiller, Jr.[1], or Meramora (メラモーラ) in Japan[2], is a flying caterpillar Badnik from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 found floating around in Angel Island Zone. They fly back and forth, and the only way to destroy them is by attacking their heads. Jumping anywhere else will inflict damage on the player.
They return in Sonic Mania's Chemical Plant Zone with the same attack pattern as in their original appearance. In Sonic Mania Plus they can also be found in their original home in Encore Mode, making them the only Badnik in the game to appear across multiple Zones.
A similar Badnik, Guruguru, appears in Sonic Advance 3.
