Bombbearer[1], also known as Bombbearer c[2] and known as Carry (キャリー)[3] in Japan, is an enemy Badnik encountered in Chaotix and later Sonic Mania.
Overview
First encountered in Techno Tower, the Bombbearer is a hovering Badnik resembling a magenta housefly which bobs across the width of the screen, carrying a grey bomb which it never tries to drop. When destroyed, their cargo will fall and explode on the floor.
This Badnik makes a return in Sonic Mania, appearing in Press Garden Zone Act 2. This time, it'll drop its sphere on the player, freezing them if it hits. If it misses, it creates a large impassible pillar of ice to block the player for a few seconds. To reflect its new function, its sphere is now marked with a snowflake symbol instead of the indecipherable markings present on the original.
