Mosqui (モスキー)[1], also known as Kameka (カメカ) in some games[2][3] and Needlenose in the US Chaotix manual[4], is a mosquito Badnik created by Dr. Eggman. It is notable as being one of the few Badnik designs which has appeared in more than one game in the classic entries during the 90s; namely Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic Triple Trouble and Chaotix.

Overview
This little rascal of a Badnik hovers slowly through the air until the player passes underneath them, which prompts them to attempt to dart down at high speeds and puncture the player. They are very easily dodged, and can be destroyed in the air - or when they're helplessly stuck in the ground after attempting to dive-bomb Sonic.
The robots use different power sources dependent on the game. All Sonic CD robots contain Little Planet flower seeds; they contain Dark Rings in Chaotix, and there's apparently nothing inside in the 8-bit games like Triple Trouble.
Game appearances
Sonic the Hedgehog CD
Sonic CD is the first game to feature the tiny Badniks under the name of Mosqui (モスキー)[1] or the Robot Mosquito, where they are found in Palmtree Panic. Once the Badnik has landed on the ground and the player moves far away from it and returns, it doesn't come back, even if they didn't destroy it (unlike all other undestroyed Badniks). When broken down due to age in the Bad Future, their flight speed and reaction time are slower, significantly reducing any threat they pose.
Like other Badniks in this game, Mosquis have flowers from the Little Planet as their power source. Several Mosquis also appear during the ending sequence that plays during the credits, attempting to dive-bomb Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble
In its only 8-bit appearance, this Badnik is known as a Kameka (カメカ)[2], and is found in the skies of Sunset Park Zone with the same behaviour as in Sonic CD. Sometimes, because of their placement around the wind turbines in the Zone, the player may end up taking damage from attempting to attack them in the air as they will often have their Spin Jump cancelled by the turbines. Due to the technical limitations of the Sega Game Gear, Kamekas do not have any visible power source.
The name Kameka (literally, mosquito mecha) derives from Mosqui's original concept art for Sonic the Hedgehog CD.[5]
Chaotix
In this game, the Badnik is known as Needlenose in the US manual[4] and Kameka (カメカ) in the Japanese manual[3], and is found in Speed Slider. They employ the same attack pattern as in their other appearances, only in this game they will launch a pair of flashing projectiles once they land.
Several Needlenoses are also shown in the cinematic opening sequence before the title screen, flying above the Newtrogic High Zone with Metal Sonic.
