"Head's Up, Tails!", known as "Egg Carrier no Tatakai" (エッグキャリアの戦い) in Japan, is the thirtieth episode in the first season of Sonic X. This episode is the fourth part of the series' adaptation of Sonic Adventure.
Summary
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, having crash-landed on the Egg Carrier, begin their attack. Knuckles heads off to find the pieces of the Master Emerald, while Sonic and Tails search for Amy. Decoe, Bocoe, and Dr. Eggman corner Amy and Lily as Sonic and Tails catch up to them, and Eggman takes the Chaos Emerald from Lily's locket. Eggman orders E-102 Gamma to destroy Sonic, and the two fight, despite Amy's protests that Gamma is not really evil. Sonic defeats Gamma, but moved by Amy's entreaties, spares the robot's life. Sonic takes off after Eggman, leaving Amy to revive Gamma and escape with Tails' aid.
Meanwhile, Big and Chris rescue Froggy, and Knuckles returns with the shards of the Master Emerald. As Big and Chris escape to the deck of the Egg Carrier, Eggman and Chaos corner them and take back the Chaos Emerald that Froggy had swallowed. With his two new Emeralds, Eggman transforms Chaos into Chaos 6. Sonic and Knuckles come to Chris' rescue, and Chris, Knuckles, and Big escape in the X-Tornado. Eggman tries to make his own escape quietly by rowing his hoverpod along with oars, but Sonic grabs onto an oar and thus escapes with him.
Back at Chris' house, Amy examines Lily's locket and finds the picture of Lily's family. She resolves to head back and rescue them.
Having got rid of Sonic for the moment by dropping his oar, Eggman launches a huge missile into Station Square. However, it proves to be a dud and doesn't explode. Bokkun delivers a message to bystanders--including Tails--that the missile is timed to go off in two minutes. Tails disarms the missile, saving the city and proving himself a hero in his own right.
