With Dr. Eggman and Surge subdued for now, Sonic and friends have a chance to relax, reset, and plan for the future. Join us for a set of misadventures in our brand-new story arc, starting here in issue #62 and running full speed through #66! First, Amy visits Knuckles on Angel Island to return a relic. The island, as always, has a few surprises in store for them as they catch up. Meanwhile, Mimic is putting together the purrfect disguise to infiltrate the Restoration.[1]

Stories

Amy Rose makes it safely to Angel Island to return the Knuckles Clan artifact she got from Rouge the Bat. She flew to the island on her Pink Cabriolet in its flying form. Once she lands, she notices Knuckles isn't guarding the Master Emerald so she assumes he's on patrol. She starts looking through the island for Knuckles before the ground crumbles underneath her feet. She falls into Hydrocity Zone but then Knuckles catches her before she could even get splashed by the water. She then shows off the old echidna relic which makes Knuckles feel ecstatic. He then offers her the opportunity to help return it to its rightful place which she gladly accepts. She then questions why Knuckles knows where it goes. He explains that the color and carving style of the artifact is reminiscent of what he's seen in both Marble Garden Zone and the Mystic Ruins jungle. Knuckles also tells her to watch her step, he doesn't want any more holes in the floor.

Meanwhile, Clutch the Opossum has a talk with Mimic at his base in Clean Sweep Inc. where they discuss a business deal. Clutch explains that Clean Sweep is his way of getting new Egg-Tech by cleaning up the Badniks left behind from Dr. Eggman's attempts of world conquest. However, the Restoration has become his biggest competition, with it disposing of dangerous material for free. So he hires Mimic to infiltrate the Restoration and rejoin the Diamond Cutters under Whisper's nose. Mimic gladly accepts the deal upon learning his old team is back.

Back on Angel Island, Knuckles and Amy make it to Marble Garden to return the artifact. While here they feel the ground rumbling. Knuckles explains that this region is unstable, with ruins getting buried and unearthed all the time. This is partially due to Eggman's digging around here recently. Amy suggests letting Jewel the Beetle help keep watch, who Knuckles doesn't remember. He gives Amy's idea a hard pass, saying he trusts Amy and five others max on the island. Amy suspects that this means Knuckles did trust her to pick up the slack after he ended the Resistance on a whim. Knuckles finally gives Amy an apology for leaving her to deal with the aftermath of it, and Amy calls it even for saving her earlier. They then arrive at the tunnel they wanted to place the artifact in. They try to be careful to not damage the trap inside while placing the artifact down but the ground once again crumbles underneath them anyway. Amy says the relics should be extra safe without a floor in there. She also sees why Knuckles is the way he is, knowing this is what his life has been like growing up. She offers Knuckles the opportunity to go visit the Restoration HQ whenever he needs a break, which he says he'll think about.

At the Restoration HQ, Tangle the Lemur, Whisper the Wolf and Lanolin the Sheep welcome Duo into the Diamond Cutters as a new recruit. Once he gets settled into his new room, Duo transforms back into Mimic and calls Clutch.
