Stories
Showdown
At the former Diamond Cutters Base in the Clove Sea, Tangle and Whisper await for Mimic's arrival. This time, Mimic is bringing with him some Badniks from Dr. Eggman to finish the job of taking out the Diamond Cutters. With the Cyan Wisp color power, Whisper shoots a laser at a giant Buzz Bomber, bringing it crashing down onto another Buzz Bomber, killing two birds with one stone. She realizes however that these Badniks are merely decoys while Mimic sneaks into the base. The Blowfish Transporter then drops down it's hatch to let out Egg Pawns, Motobugs and Egg Hammers, but Whisper destroys the platform they landed on, causing all the machines to drop into the Clove Sea. After a moment's rest, Whisper then has to deal with more fire from Buzz Bombers flying in.
Meanwhile, Tangle tries to find where Mimic is hiding. She sees him as Sonic the Hedgehog but doesn't fall for his trick again this time. She instead lures him into a room where holographic videos play of the former Diamond Cutters from their masks. Tangle's attempt to get Mimic to see the error in his ways falls flat as he never saw the other Diamond Cutters as friends or comrades. All he cares about is self-preservation, and saw the Diamond Cutters as a threat to his personal safety. He tries to convince Tangle that friendship is a weakness by shapeshifting into Jewel the Beetle, but Tangle fights through the disguise and beats him up. Mimic admits that Tangle has some skill, but needs training to become formidable. Whisper then enters the room to beat Mimic up with her blue cube hammer. Mimic manages to talk his old blue Wisp partner out of fighting, but she and Tangle manage to capture Mimic regardless. Whisper prepares to take Mimic down for good, but Tangle tells her it would be better to let Mimic rot the rest of his life behind bars.
They decide to bring Mimic to Tails' Workshop, where the smart fox boy puts Mimic into the Test Chamber that Tails uses for tests of different climate conditions. Mimic gloats that he'll escape it, but Whisper warns him that she will stop him. Tangle also warns him about what Eggman could do if he gets out. Tails then tells Whisper he will make sure Mimic is transported to a prison as soon as possible. Whisper then sets out to continue fighting Dr. Eggman, and Tangle tells her she will join her, right after she visits Jewel at least. The two of them then head out back into a more happy world.
