Stories
Ambush
Tangle and Whisper head to the forgotten Eggman Empire Bunker Mimic is hiding inside of. The lemur is a little too excited for this mission while Whisper is fearful of what could happen. Before they go in, Tangle mentions some of the details Whisper hasn't shared with her yet about this guy, bringing up how he mentioned the Diamond Cutters in particular. Whisper still doesn't want to get into the weeds about their history and tells her to be on her guard. Mimic watched them enter the bunker from a window and talked with himself about how Whisper still hasn't learned her lesson yet. The two heroes split up to find Mimic when Tangle hears Jewel's voice and goes to investigate. Mimic as Whisper lures Tangle into a trap, locking her into a safe.
Mimic shapeshifts into Tangle now and tricks Whisper into walking into an Egg Hammer wielding a wrecking ball. The wolf easily subdues the Egg Hammer using her Pink and Orange Wisps' Color Powers. Mimic then starts chucking bombs at Whisper which she avoids with the Green Hover Wisp's power, then knocks Mimic down with a Cyan Laser beam. Whisper then demands Mimic tell her where Tangle is. He teases her by saying she's in a "safe" place, then torments her by shapeshifting into Slinger the Ocelot, Claire Voyance and Smithy the Lion. Whisper starts beating Mimic with a Blue Cube hammer after seeing him do such a cruel thing. He then reveals that the whole place is about to explode and she should probably go find Tangle before she runs out of air. Mimic gets out of dodge, and Whisper runs off to find the safe Tangle is in. After opening the safe door, the two of them get inside to save themselves from the fiery explosion. Once the two of them escape from the rubble, Whisper tells Tangle to go home. Tangle tries to defend herself, which triggers Whisper with an emotional outburst. She doesn't want to lose another friend to Mimic. Tangle tries to comfort Whisper, and she begins to tell Tangle the whole story of what happened.
