Jewel the Beetle is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by IDW Publishing.
During the Metal Virus saga, she was contaminated and became a Zombot like many of the characters. Later, she proposed to Amy Rose to take her place as director of the restauration, with Amy happily accepting her offer. Since that day, she helped a lot in the reconstruction of a new Restoration HQ as the previous HQ was destroyed during the Metal Virus saga. She also helped saving many people from a campfire during the events of "Trial by Fire".

Character conception
Jewel was conceptualized by writer Ian Flynn, while artist Jennifer Hernandez handled the character design.[2] She was created to be a partner for Tangle the Lemur. With the idea being that Tangle's tail could function like a grappling hook and Jewel could be a mobile anker point.[3]
Personality and traits
Jewel and Tangle are best friends. As the level-headed one of the pair, Jewel has been bailing Tangle out of trouble since childhood. While Tangle has a thirst for adventure, Jewel prefers her quiet life as curator of the Mineral Museum in Spiral Hill Village, having great knowledge in geology.
