Stories
No Honor Among Thieves
At Dr. Eggman's EggNet Hub, Zavok prepares to take Dr. Starline's hide. The doctor quickly activates his new Tricore gear to slip away and overpower Tumble. Zavok, Rough and Tumble pursue the platypus while Mimic takes a moment to think. He decides it's the best course of action to ensure no one is caught and reports to Eggman, so he lets Eggman know they are there so he can bomb the place. Mimic then leaves to go find Whisper. In the Egg Hawk, baldy nosehair receives a new report from Orbot that Zavok is attacking the EggNet Hub right now. He sends all squadrons after the Zeti to take care of him for good.
Back at the Hub, Starline injects his toxin into Rough and Tumble to immobilize them before he runs away from Zavok. The Zeti says in his final piece on Starline, that he's sloppy, needlessly cruel, and his sense of pride is unearned. Starline thinks to himself that Zavok is right. He has been copying Dr. Eggman for his whole life, which means he inherited all of Eggman's flaws. He must strive to be better than Eggman. Starline heads back to the computer room and deletes Egg Base Sigma from the registry so he can have control over it in secret. He then makes his way out before Eggman arrives. Rough and Tumble decide after this it's better for them to work alone, not dealing with another boss for a while.
Now Zavok enters the computer room, preparing to use the EggNet for finding the Deadly Six, before Eggman appears on the monitor. Zavok tells him that the Cacophonic Conch was lost on the Faceship so he has no way of subduing him. Eggman then yells that Zavok is getting vaporized for trespassing. Zavok is confused on why Eggman would destroy such an important base, but Robotnik brushes it off, saying he'll just build another one. Zavok fights back by using his powers to get the Badniks to fire at the Egg Hawk. The others are all out of the EggNet Hub while Zavok gets buried underneath the roof. Eggman flies away while the Zeti escapes from the rubble. He orders an Egg Pawn to carry him away.
At Dr. Eggman's HQ, Orbot gives his boss the report that Zavok is missing, so Eggman knows he failed. He realizes that Zavok isn't tech-savvy enough to know this much about his infrastructure. He knows someone else is involved, but has no idea who it is. Meanwhile, Egg Base Sigma is being transformed into Starline Central Command. Starline is happy with the results of this adventure. He now intends not to conquer the world in an attempt to prove himself to Eggman, but instead to prove it to himself. He fully intends to now replace Dr. Eggman as the superior genius.
