Stories
Imposter
In Spiral Hill Village, Tangle is over enthusiastic right now after fighting alongside Sonic the Hedgehog and saving Angel Island from Neo Metal Sonic. Tangle's old friend Jewel the Beetle sees her causing mayhem outside and tries to stop her. In her excitement, Tangle bumps into Ron's Chili Dog Cart and hurts her head. In Jewel's Mineral Museum, Tangle tries to cool down with an ice bag while eating a chili dog. She just can't stand the slow quiet vibe of Spiral Hill anymore after fighting a robot dragon. At the same time, Tangle doesn't want to leave Spiral Hill in case Eggman's robots attack again. The conversation between Tangle and Jewel is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Mimic outside, disguised as Sonic. When Tangle looks outside, all she sees is Whisper fighting Sonic and becomes incredibly confused. The wolf pursues the fake hedgehog while Tangle tries to figure out what's going on. She talks to the imposter Sonic who tells her a lie about how Eggman put a mind-control chip in Whisper's Mask. Tangle interrupts Whisper sniping Mimic by taking away her mask, allowing the faker to run away. Whisper then shows Tangle a video recording of Mimic trying to kill her since she is the last member of the Diamond Cutters.
They head back to Jewel's place where Whisper tells Tangle a little more about Mimic, but not all of the details. Tangle wants to go with Whisper to hunt down Mimic, but she is hesitant to let her do it. Whisper's Wisps however really want Tangle to go on the mission, which convinces Whisper to say yes. While they were talking, Mimic left a note on the door, telling them where he was hiding. Tangle and Whisper then start heading to where the note says.
