First, in "Seasons of Chaos" by longtime Sonic scribe Ian Flynn and artists Aaron Hammerstrom & Reggie Graham, Sonic goes on an adventure from pleasant spring valleys to wintry wonderlands in search of the Chaos Emeralds. But Sonic's not alone, with a little help from his friends Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Mighty the Armadillo, and Ray the Flying Squirrel, they'll race, fight, and fly their way to victory against the baddest of baddies!
Then, in "Dr. Eggman's Birthday," the vile, villainous Dr. Eggman takes center stage in a story written by New York Times bestseller Gale Galligan (The Babysitters Club)! And how does the bad doctor celebrate the occasion? Only his Badniks know for sure…
Finally, in "Sonic Learns to Drive," Sonic's up against a tough challenge: Driving! When the fastest thing alive can outrun any car, will Sonic have the patience to learn… or will he finally get left in the dust? Written by the hosts of My Brother, My Brother, and Me, The Adventure Zone, and New York Times bestsellers, the McElroy Brothers!

Stories
Seasons of Chaos
Dr. Eggman decided to rebuild Heavy King so he could become his chief commander and lead his robots into battle. At night, the Heavy King tried to take control of the Eggman Empire by assassinating the doctor in his sleep, but Metal Sonic saved Eggman from the king’s wrath. In response, Heavy King took control over Metal Sonic, Metal Knuckles and Tails Doll and they kicked Eggman out of his own fortress in the Winter Caverns Zone. Dr. Eggman hired a couple of hooligans Bark the Polar Bear, Bean the Dynamite and Fang the Sniper to find the seven Chaos Emeralds before the Heavy King could get his metallic hands on them.
After a fierce battle with Sonic's team, Fang's team and Metal's team; the Chaos Emeralds were taken to Heavy King and now Sonic has to team up with his foes to get them back. In Eggman’s base, the Heavy King uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to attack them all, but Sonic makes fun of him so the Heavy King loses his cool. After losing the emeralds, Heavy King decides it’s best to rejoin Eggman and the other teams get out of there before the villains can make a move.
Sonic Learns to Drive
Sonic learns to drive from Kip the Capybara so he can win chili dogs in a race.
Dr. Eggman's Birthday
On Eggman’s birthday, the rebuilt Hard-Boiled Heavies try to make their creator happy by destroying Sonic themselves. This disappoints the doctor because he knows his forces are not ready to take on the hedgehog. The Heavies apologize for their actions and the Badnik army deliver their creator his birthday cake.
