However, it's always best to avoid these badniks at all cost or by destroying them with a spin, or a jump. Mega Chopper, or Kapu-Kapu (カプカプ) in Japan, is a small fish-like badnik from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 found in the waters of Hydrocity Zone. They swim around the water, and when approached, jump onto the player, stealing their rings. The player is now unable to jump, and the only ways of getting rid of them is by either getting hit by another badnik, standing in moving spikes, or by rolling into tubes (complete a loop, and the tube will grant you auto/forced spin). Another way of getting these off of your character is to move around sporadically, bashing on the left and right directional buttons. However, it's always best to avoid these badniks at all cost or by destroying them with a spin, or a jump. The Insta-shield can also be an invaluable tool in dispatching of these badniks.
They return in Sonic Mania, again in Hydrocity Zone, with the same attack pattern.
