Metal Sonic (Sonic Mania boss)
Game: Sonic Mania
Level: [[Stardust Speedway Zone]]
Hits to defeat: 12 (total), 4 (second phase), 8 (third phase)

Metal Sonic comes back with all its vengeful potential in Sonic Mania! This time with a battle in 3 phases. Ready for that?

It all begins with a reference to the Metal Sonic's holograms, directly from Sonic CD, followed by the iconic race with it. In this part Metal Sonic tries to disrupt the player using attacks like its Maximum Overdrive and its Ring Spark Field. Which lead to a kind of industrial area where there are two more Metal Sonics, but destroyed and tubed.

In this area begins the first part of the battle where you can attack Metal Sonic, consisting of a few more references, this time to the penultimate battle with Metal in Chaotix and Silver Sonic of the 8-bit version of Sonic 2. In this part, Metal Sonic begins to periodically use electric balls to hit the player at the same time as Silver Sonics are released for the player to use against Metal Sonic with the use of Spin Dash or even Spin Jump. Silver Sonics has a simple pattern, consisting of using the Spin Dash or a hand-claw that comes out of their chest and can be destroyed with a hit. You might think you have to destroy the Silver Sonics, but actually have to wait for them to spindash and ricochet them into Metal Sonic.

Finally, another segment of racing starts, and lasts until you reach the top of Dr. Robotnik's statue, where you can attack Metal once more. There is a spiked wall chasing your character. You must hit Metal Sonic 8 times after he finishes using his attacks. After this, Metal Sonic is defeated, and the capsule will float down.
