Tangle the Lemur is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by IDW Publishing. She was first revealed on IGN.com on January 24, 2018.^[2]

Character conception

Tangle was created by Ian Flynn, while Tyson Hesse drew the character design.^[3] Tangle was originally going to be a Hare based on Sonic's early design but was changed to a Lemur to separate her from Cream the Rabbit.^[4] Yuji Uekawa did the final design for Tangle's shoes.^[5]

Personality and traits

Tangle is an excitable ring-tailed lemur with a thirst for adventure. She first met Sonic while defending her hometown, Spiral Hill Village, from Dr. Eggman's robots. Her best friend is a beetle named Jewel, who she grew up with.

Tangle's most distinguishing feature is her stretchy prehensile tail, which she puts to a multitude of uses.
