Personality and traits
Rough along with his brother Tumble are bullies who tend to team up with Sonic's other enemies in effort to compete with the hedgehog. Rough is known for his stink bomber attack which he uses like a canister of tear gas.

History
Rough first appeared with his partner Tumble on Orbot's tablet at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog #2. The two of them made their proper debut in Sonic the Hedgehog #3 where they were shown to have taken over Barricade Town during the Eggman War. The two of them were kicked out of town by Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles the Echidna. They later teamed up with Dr. Starline on a few adventures. Later in Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2022 Rough and Tumble briefly split up. Rough decided to team up with Tangle the Lemur. While trying to steal a Chaos Emerald Rough saw that Tumble had teamed up with Rouge the Bat. The two skunks fought for the Chaos Emerald then realized this fight was pointless and became partners again.
