The Kick[1] (キック[2]) is a move performed by Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Heroes. It is their respective Solo Attack. Neither Amy nor Espio can use the Kick - instead they use the Swinging Hammer Attack and Shuriken respectively.
Overview
When Sonic and Shadow are in Speed Formation and are not being followed by their teammates, holding down and releasing 
(GC)/
(PS2)/
(Xbox) will make them perform a somersault and launch forward across the ground with a flying kick. This move can be used to damage enemies and break wooden containers.
