The Recovery Smash (リカバリースマッシュ) is a move performed by Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Frontiers. It is an offensive move for use in combat.
Overview
The Recovery Smash can be unlocked in the game's Skill menu for 50 Skill Points after unlocking the Spin Slash. When unlocked, a prompt to press 
(PS4/PS5)/
(XB1)/
(Switch) will appear when Sonic is hit by certain enemy attacks or comes into contact with something harmful such as a Tower's spinning rings or a Soldier's spikes. If the player presses the button before Sonic hits the ground, then Sonic will negate all damage and immediately Spin Dash towards the enemy that attacked him to deal a counterattack. He will deal six hits to the enemy, then finish with a diving kick, much like the Grand Slam.
