Overview
In contrast to Kronos Island, Ares Island is a sizzling desert known to house numerous desert structures including rocky ground, and stretches of sand dunes for Sonic to run across. What little plant life exists on the island includes palm trees and patchy desert grass. As with the other islands that make up the Starfall Islands, this island also features the ancient ruins of a past civilisation.

Name origin
Ares Island is named after Ares, the Greek god of war and courage, the son of Zeus and Hera, and one of the Twelve Olympians. He embodies the physical valor necessary for success in war but can also personify sheer brutality and bloodlust, though has a limited role in Greek mythology and is often humiliated when he does appear. His most notable role is aiding the Trojans in the Trojan War, who were then defeated by the Greeks.
