True Blue: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog |
---|
Record label: Wave Master |
True Blue: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog is a compilation album of various music used in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Compiled by Jun Senoue and released by Wave Master, nearly all the tracks featured are the many vocal themes that have become a staple of the Sonic gaming experience. Because of this, the majority of the songs are from the Sonic Adventure era and beyond, only four songs representing Sonic's musical career beforehand. Also included are a handful of remixed bonus tracks, one of them being the theme to Sonic Adventure, making "Open Your Heart" and "His World" the only two tracks to appear twice.

Miscellaneous
- Though original mixes had been present on previous releases, both "Live and Learn" and "What I'm Made Of" were remixed slightly by Masahiro Fukuhara in August of 2007, the changes between each version being subtle.
- The second bonus track on the album, the SSBB remix of Angel Island Zone, was as the name implies originally produced for inclusion in the Nintendo fighter Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which featured Sonic the Hedgehog as a playable character in a game designed to celebrate the history of Nintendo. The track is also the only song on the album to not feature any vocals.
