His World doubles as the main theme of the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog, and as the theme of Sonic in that game. There are three vocal versions of the song and two instrumental ones. The main vocal version that appears in the game is performed by Ali Tabatabaee & Matty Lewis of Zebrahead. The others appear as extras on the game's OST and are performed by the entire Zebrahead band and Crush 40.
The first version of the song heard was an instrumental in E3 trailers of the game. This song is only used in certain FMVs of the game and is separated into two themes for the OST. A different instrumental is used for the final boss fight of the game. There is also a fourth made by Zebrahead, which isn't official to the game, yet it was presented in and was the theme of Summer of Sonic 2008.
There is a difference in key between some of the versions. The E3 and Crush 40 versions are half a step higher than the others. The game's Speed Shoes/Invincible theme, which is loosely based on the song, uses this same higher key.

Lyrics
Come on and light the fuse
He's a rocket and he's ready to go
Cuz now the countdown has started and he's ready to blow
He's got the dope sounds bumpin', and in stereo (eo!)
Kickin' ass fast, puttin' on a show
Go on and get yourself together - there's no time to rest
And if you put the time in, he'll put you to the test
He's like the running man - in his world, more is less
And if you wanna test him, best bring your best
Don't make me spell it out - bring your best
In this world (his world)
Where life is strong
In this world (his world)
Life's an open book
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In his world of worlds every step meets the risk
In this world (his world)
Where one is all
In this world (his world)
Never fear the fall
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In his world of worlds every step meets the risk
Runnin' it back again - well, whatcha expect?
Coming out to win 10 outta 10 - got a real rough neck
Spikes up his liberty and straps on his shoes
Cuz he's the best there ever was - haven't you heard the news?
Intergalactic continental champ running things
Hyperactive instrumental in pulling strings
He is the one who understands when the tides will swing
So he's breaking down doors - never following
Come on and psyche yourself up cuz it's time to play
Bounce to the beats and the rhymes cuz they're here to stay
The one and only marathon man living today
Rollin' up, coming fast, and he'll blow you away
Becuz the pressures of this world, they can take their toll
And it's tough to get away when they take a hold
The only way to break free is to break the mold
He can't stop now - lock and load
Don't stop now - come on, rock and roll
In this world (his world) - Gotta make your own way
Where life is strong
In this world (his world) - Life is just a game you play
Life's an open book
In this world (his world) - Nothing's forever here to stay
Where compromise does not exist
In his world of worlds every step meets the risk
In this world (his world) - Gotta make your own way
Where one is all
In this world (his world) - Life is just a game you play
Never fear the fall
In this world (his world) - Nothing's forever here to stay
Where compromise does not exist
In his world of worlds every step meets the risk
Light the fuse on his rocket and he's ready to go

In his world
Never fear the fall
(In his world)
The only way to break free is to break the mold
You can't stop now - lock and load
(In his world)
I said, you can't stop now - lock and load
(His world)
Don't stop now, come on and rock and roll

Lyrics
Yeah
Yeah
Here we go
Beware of the time as it moves along
Takin' you back - always feared and strong
Like the rush of wind, he moves on and on and on and on and on
He's the fire, flame, conflicting pain - untouched and crushed and will remain
The one, the two, the three, the four
Headed straight for an open door
He can see, and he can feel without one touch - it seems unreal, but it's true
The power lives inside of you - inside of you, yeah
In this world (his world)
Where life is strong (life is strong)
In this world (his world)
Life's an open book (an open book)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
In this world (his world)
Where one is all (one is all)
In this world (his world)
Never fear the fall (never fear the fall)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
Beware of your mind as it proves you wrong
A forward push as the clock strikes strong
Like the rush of wind, he moves on and on and on and on and on
He's the tower, power, admits no shame - untouched and crushed and will remain
The one, the two, the three, the four
Headed straight for an open door
He can see what he can't feel - without one touch - it becomes surreal, but it's true
The power lives inside of you - inside of you, yeah
In this world (his world)
Where life is strong (life is strong)
In this world (his world)
Life's an open book (an open book)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
In this world (his world)
Where one is all (one is all)
In this world (his world)
Never fear the fall (never fear the fall)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
Beware of your mind as it proves you wrong
A forward push as the clock strikes strong
In this world - his world
In this world (his world)
Where life is strong (life is strong)
In this world (his world)
Life's an open book (an open book)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
In this world (his world)
Where one is all (one is all)
In this world (his world)
Never fear the fall (never fear the fall)
In this world (his world)
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
Yeah, yeah
Beware of your mind as it proves you wrong
A forward push as the clock strikes strong

HIS WORLD (Blue World Prelude)
During the Summer of Sonic’s 2008 live performance featuring Richard Jacques and TJ Davis, Lee Brotherton pulled a rabbit out of the hat and surprised everyone with a brand new version of HIS WORLD. Nice, slow and chilled out, this re-interpretation of the Zebrahead classic features brand new lyrics, and is the official theme song to the Summer of Sonic 2008 convention.[1] Due to failure of the Sonic Stadium's servers, the link for the music is lost. It was re-uploaded and can be found here: [2].
Lyrics
You cannot run, you cannot hide
'Cause we can see your strength inside
And if you fall, if you may falter
We'll be with you - that will not alter
He can see, and he can feel without one touch - it seems surreal, but it's true
The power lives inside of you - inside of you, yeah
In this world
Where life is strong
In this world
Life's an open book
In this world
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
In this world
Where one is all
In this world
Never fear the fall
In this world
Where compromise does not exist
In this world of worlds, every step meets the risk
Footnotes
- For unknown reasons, the in-game version of the Ali Tabatabaee and Matty Lewis version censors the word "ass" as in "a--". While the OST's version does not, the printed lyrics of the song do. However, the Zebrahead version on the OST does not have this censor in the song, or the lyrics page. In the Sonic Generations version it does feature the word ass.
- A new Instrumental Version of His World was featured in Super Smash Bros Brawl. This was a modified version of the 2006 E3 variant of the song featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog Original Soundtrack, a remix of the instrumental version that did not make it to the game's final soundtrack (thus, it was dubbed the "lost instrumental").
