Shadow vs. Silver
From Sonic Retro
Shadow vs. Silver
Game: Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Level: Radical Train
Fought by: Shadow, Silver
Shadow and Silver fight each other as the fourth boss in each of their respective stories during Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). For Silver, the fight is listed as Shadow the Hedgehog; for Shadow, it's Silver the Hedgehog.
Still hunting around in the past to assassinate Sonic, Silver and Blaze are directed by Mephiles to the train station, where the blue hedgehog has once again been rescuing Princess Elise from Eggman. Shadow is in the Radical Train area as well, seeking out Robotnik for a different reason - to interrogate the Doctor about Mephiles. Silver catches up to Sonic and prepares to finish what he started in Soleanna Castle Town; but Shadow intervenes on the Blue Blur's behalf. While Sonic races off after Eggman again, the white and black hedgehogs battle.
Strategy here is much the same as in Sonic vs. Silver for either character. CPU-controlled Silver remains more capable than the player controlled version, with the added disadvantage that the multi-levelled fight arena provides loads of opportunities for him to trap Shadow against the sky with consecutive psychokinetic throws. As Shadow, then, remain on ground level and leap into a Homing Attack only when Silver is already holding bits of scenery with psychokinesis. It is also possible to hit Silver when he's jumping, but this is more difficult. As Silver, just keep your distance from Shadow and keep hurling barrels at long range.
From the subsequent cutscene, Shadow comes out of the fight on top, slowing down time with a Chaos Emerald to deliver a swift kick to the back of Silver's skull. The two then accidentally open a Chaos Control time portal to the Solaris Project, and agree to work together to find out what happened 10 years ago.
