Sonic Dance Power V is the fifth in a series of techno-dance compilation albums released in Benelux and the Netherlands. While the packaging uses the Sonic the Hedgehog brand, the contents of the CD have very little to do with Sonic or SEGA, though the Netherlands version does contain a video introducing the Sega Saturn. The two releases contain different tracks.
The first two tracks on the Netherlands disc are video files playable on any compatitable Video CD device. The first is the music video to the Backstreet Boys song featured on the album, while the second is a brief introduction/advertisement to the then-new Sega system, the Sega Saturn. If played in a regular CD player, the disc would automatically jump to track 3. Many of the tracks listed on the CD omit details such as what version mix each song is. Track 10 is also credited to "Yavahn," the vocalist for a track actually performed by Ruffneck.
