The Dark Bat Sniper, known as a Dark Float Cannon (ダークフロートキャノン ) in Japan, is one of Dark Gaia's minions found in the night stages of Sonic Unleashed.

These enemies are similar to the Dark Bat, except they shoot balls of energy similar to the Dark Master's attack. There is a 15-second delay between shots in the 360/PS3 verison, but that delay is far shorter in the Wii/PS2 version, lasting 3 seconds. The Dark Bat Sniper can sometimes be placed over bottomless pits along with Dark Bat's to provide a small sense of urgency to not get attacked while trying to navigate across.
