Guards (クラーム)[1] are toy soldier Badniks that appear in Sonic Advance 3. They are designed like British guardsmen in appearance.
Naturally, they are encountered only in Toy Kingdom, where they are found marching back and forth in groups of three. Every now and then, they will shoot bombs from their trumpets in the direction they are facing.
The Egg Cube will also toss Guards at the player as a form of attack. Unlike the Guards found in regular Acts, these ones do not attack and bounce off the ground once before falling off the bottom of the screen and will not drop Rings when destroyed, serving to get in the player's way. The more the boss is forced further to the right, the more frequently the Guards are tossed at the player.
