"Chaos Emerald Chaos", known as "Chaos Emerald o Te ni Irero!" (カオスエメラルドを手に入れろ!) in Japan, is the fourth episode in the first season of Sonic X.

Episode summary
At the Thorndyke mansion, the group are discussing Chaos Control and the seven Chaos Emeralds. They believe if the Emeralds are on this world, and if they collect all seven, then Sonic and his friends may be able to return home.
On an airplane, the President and an unnamed agent are discussing the whereabouts of Sonic and his friends, and Dr. Eggman. Eggman is currently being infiltrated by the Southern Sea patrol, while Sonic is under observation by a mole.
At Chris' school, his friends Danny and Frances are talking about recent events which they have seen on the news. Chris is evasive about the subject. The headteacher enters the classroom and announces that their old teacher has quit and will be replaced by Mr. Stewart. After class, Stewart approaches Chris and tell him he's a fan of his mother, Lindsey Fair, who is a famous actress. He also asks Chris what sort of animals he likes, in reference to Sonic & co.
Meanwhile, on a construction site, a digger has uncovered a green Chaos Emerald. When its scoop hits the Emerald, it absorbs energy and the digger begins to glow. Back in the classroom, Chris sees Tails and Amy in the Tornado heading into the city to find the Emerald. He excuses himself and runs off. Mr Stewart instructs the class to study by themselves, and leaves too.
Dr. Eggman and E-11 arrive at the construction site the same time as Sonic. He orders the robot to attack Sonic, so it repeatedly collides with him, not allowing him to touch the ground. Amy attempts to throw Sonic a Ring, but misses. While Sonic is occupied, Eggman goes to grab the Emerald. Chris tries to stop him, but ends up hanging from the Eggpod as it flies away.
Amy manages to pass Sonic another Ring, which he absorbs and uses to destroy the E-11. Chris falls from the Eggpod, but not before stealing the Emerald from Eggman. Mr. Stewart sees Chris falling, and accelerates to catch him with the large airbag on his high-tech car. However, Sonic saves Chris instead.
