The Death LeechMedia:ShadowTheHedgehog Prima digital guide.pdf (デスリーチ) is an enemy in Shadow the Hedgehog. They are the offspring of the Black Arms.

Overview

As larval Black Arms, Death Leeches are nothing more than pulsating purple blobs with horns and a single eye in the center of their bodies. As such, they have very little endurance, and can be killed in one hit regardless of Shadow's weapon. They are commonly found sticking to the walls and floating on the poisonous fluid in the Black Comet.

Death Leeches are blood-suckers; they feed by latching on to their victims and sucking their blood. During the events of the Last Story, Black Doom sends a group of Death Leeches to drain the blood of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge and Dr. Eggman after paralysing them in place with nerve gas, and reveals that the rest of the planet will suffer the same fate. Shadow, resisting against Black Doom, squashes the Death Leech that's latching on to him and gives chase, leaving the heroes and Eggman to be sucked dry (though they eventually escape when the nerve gas wears off).
