Bee is a badnik which was set to appear in Emerald Hill Zone. It's design is similar to that of the Buzzer badnik that also appears in Emerald Hill Zone. It attacked by firing projectiles from its stinger, also like Buzzer. However, said projectiles were capable of burning down the wooden log bridges throughout the zone, albeit opening access to alternate pathways.
Graphics of what may be a flaming log were found in the Simon Wai prototype. This could be indicitive that the Bee badnik was incorperated in the game at some point.
Sometimes the Bee would destroy bridges, making the player fail the level.
The Bee badnik used sprites from the Buzzer, but the stinger would expand when the badnik was about to fire a projectile.
The Bee is yet to be included in any hack or released prototype.
The Bee should not be confused with Buzzer, a badnik with the same sprite.
If the projectile hit Sonic, it might have made a special animation.
