[[Sonic]]'s influence on Earth's culture continues to increase. Decoe and Bocoe also enjoy a new sense of freedom. After giving up on [[Dr. Eggman]], they are finally serving their criminal sentence through volunteer work, pruning hedges at Chris's house, a task they find extremely satisfying. Everyone from Chris's parents to Bokkun wears a "Freedom" T-shirt. [[Eggman]], meanwhile, is forced to cook for himself, and is completely inedible.

A shadow is cast over these happy moments when the President's aides arrive at [[Chris]] ' house with a geophysicist, who explains to [[Chuck]] that this world and Sonic's world were once one is for some reason it split into two different worlds and dimensions and that means each world had a different timeline. The mass arrival of the population of [[Sonic]]'s world has caused the two worlds to rejoining , once one, and so now the two timelines are also rejoining and if they do nothing the two timelines will interfere with each other and eventually freeze, leaving no past or future where physical death would no longer be possible and this thing they called it : Time stagnation phenomenon. The only way to prevent this from happening, is to send all the inhabitants who arrived en masse from Sonic's world , back to their world , so once again into their dimension, [[Sonic]] and others included... so once again they will have to divide the two populations through a Chaos Control induced with [[Tails]] ' amazement, but also with Chuck's subsequent explanation in which he states that the government wants to return the world to a time before they arrived on Earth (i.e. with citizens behaving in a normal way in which they do not emulate Sonic's lifestyle since his influence , has had an uncontrollable impact on the Earth's population) .

[[Chris]] hears the end of the conversation but has a small emotional breakdown where he thinks they are lying to him , rushes out of the room much to Tails ' amazement where he claims to have never seen him so angry and with Chuck expressing his thoughts on the matter and that is that he understands what Chris is feeling because it is the same thing he is feeling too. Chuck, however, is aware that he is not eternal and that the prospect of living forever would be ideal for his research especially along with Tails but , an empty prospect where there is no future in which he can make use of these research would be meaningless because they would stand still while the entire universe around them would move forward. Sharing this feeling with his scientist friend , Chuck thanks Tails for the good time he spent with him building together . Meanwhile, Chris tries to go to Eggman thinking that the whole situation was created once again because of him . Meanwhile Chris's parents; Chuck and Tails are worried about where their son is with parents thinking of throwing a party with an entire toy store , but Chuck dissuades them by telling them that they have to trust Chris and that actually Chris knows it's the truth, but is still looking for answers on his own (or another solution) . Chris finds Decoe and Bocoe and asks them to take him to Eggman , however, the two do not know where he is but summon Bokkun who is willing to take them in exchange for decent food and oil .  Arriving at Eggman , Chris starts asking him questions where at first Eggman pretends not to understand Chris ' suspicions, but eventually scolds him for behaving in a way that is not like him : childish and selfish , pointing out, however, that he thought that Chris was a little tougher since both he and Sonic had always foiled his plans together and making him realize that this time he had nothing to do with all of this. He sends Chris away, forbidding the robots to follow him, who sadly obey .

"The Beginning of the End", known as "Sekai ga Seishi Suru Hi" (世界が静止する日) in Japan, is the 49th episode in the first season of Sonic X.

Summary

Decoe and Bocoe have a renewed sense of freedom after abandoning Dr. Eggman and serving their criminal sentence working for the Thorndyke's. Chris's parents wear "Liberty" T-shirts and Eggman is forced to cook for himself, which is a disaster.

Christina Cooper and Dr. Kim Buckley explain that the two planets were once one, but for some reason an event caused them to split into two different planets and dimensions with their own timelines. The mass arrival of the population of Sonic's world caused the two planets to rejoin coming very close to each other, and unless action is taken, the two timelines will interfere with each other and eventually freeze, leaving no past or future in which physical death is no longer possible. The only way to prevent this is to send the mass of the population of Sonic's world back to their own world and, unfortunately, Sonic and the others as well. Chuck explains that the government wants to return the world to a time before Sonic's arrival, with citizens behaving normally, because Sonic's influence has had an uncontrollable impact on Earth's population. To avoid this temporal freeze, they will have to divide, unfortunately again, the two populations, through chaos control.

Chris hears the end of the conversation and has an emotional breakdown. He rushes out of the room, finds Decoe and Bocoe, and asks them to take him to Eggman, but they do not know where he is except Bokkun. Bokkun takes Chris to Eggman, Chris asks Eggman some questions, who at first pretends not to understand Chris's suspicions, but eventually scolds him for acting in a way that is not like him: childish. He sends Chris away, forbidding the robots to follow him.

Chris returns home unable to accept the truth, while Tails and Chuck collect Chaos Emeralds and build a portal. The episode ends with Sonic hearing Chris telepathically, meantime finding a chaos emerald.
