Game demos

Sonic Adventure 2: The Trial, a public demo version of Sonic Adventure 2, differs greatly from the final game.

Some video game prereleases are not always in-house developer builds, but are game demos that are made available to the public either exclusively at public events and shop kiosks, or distributed via demo discs or online storefronts for the public to try out a game before its release or before making a purchase. More often than not, they can be based on prototype builds and therefore have differences from the final game.
