The Sonic Colours Demo, known as Sonic Colors Taikenban (ソニック カラーズ たいけんばん) in Japan, is a demo version of Sonic Colours for the Nintendo DS that was made available to download from the Nintendo Channel on the Wii. Three versions of the demo were released for Japan, North America and Europe respectively.

Gameplay
The demo only features the first Act of Tropical Resort with the Red Wisp already unlocked, allowing the user to try out the Red Burst. Before starting, two static screens that demonstrate the controls and how to use the Red Burst are displayed. Special Rings have also been removed from this demo. Once the Act has been cleared, a "Thank you for playing" screen is displayed.
