Special Stages in Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure are a port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's special stages.

Sonic runs in a halfpipe collecting rings during a period. There are a total of three segments to the level. If the player collects enough rings during the first two segments, a message will appear onscreen saying "Cool" and the level will continue into the next segment. If not enough rings are collected in any segment Sonic will stop and a message will appear saying "Not Enough Rings" and the stage will be over. If the player collects enough rings in the third segment they will be granted a Chaos Emerald.
