Virtual Sonic Enhanced Music Inspired by the Worlds of Sonic is a single disc release of music related to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Though containing tracks featured in Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball and Sonic & Knuckles, two-thirds of the songs on the album are original compositions not seen anywhere else.
Though not commercially available until 1996, the tracks were actually written and recorded three years prior, composer and performer Howard Drossin given a month to create an album of Sonic music from beginning to end. Though he asked for more time, Sega was insistent at the schedule, wanting the tracks ready for the opening of the Sega Store in the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.[1]
