Sonic the Comic #42 is the forty-second issue of the Sonic the Comic series by Fleetway Editions Ltd.
The free gift was 6 Badnik Spotter cards, the second half of a "1.0" set that was started in the previous issue, #41. The art for the cards was drawn by Ferran Rodriguez. Each card contained a picture of a Badnik from Sonic 1 or 2 on the Mega Drive or Master System/Game Gear, as well as their name and some information about them. Despite being labelled as set "1.0", no further card sets were ever made.
