Lake Rocky is the fourth level of Tails Adventures for the Sega Game Gear, coming after Polly Mt. 1 and before Cavern Island. Unlike its English name claims, it is not a lake at all, but the surrounding sea of Cocoa Island. Though thanks to the non-linear nature of Tails Adventure, Tails must return to the region on various occasions as new items (like the Anti-Air Missile and Mine) open up new routes.

Overview

Having clashed with Battle Kukku 16th atop Polly Mt. 1, Tails is finally able to bring the Sea Fox submarine up to combat readiness, starting with the Vulcan Gun as its only means of offense. Now the outlying islets off the coast of Cocoa Island proper can be explored. Launching off from the pier outside Tails' House, Tails can take to the waves; although predictably the Kukkus will arrive there first.

"Lake" Rocky is a coastal shoreline riddled with underwater caverns - and no shortage of sea mines, which are dropped all over the place by the airborne invaders. In his first visit to the level, Tails simply sails right through to Cavern Island, but there are numerous different navigational routes leading to different offshore areas that Tails can access when he has collected the necessary items. The seawater turns eutropified viridian around the entrance to Lake Crystal, and the downwards path leading to Coco Island becomes more mechanical, crammed full of guns and mine chutes.

The boss is the Kukku Cruiser, and is fought when taking the path to Green Island.

There are no items available in Lake Rocky.
